Gastro Health used to be known as Herbal H-p Fighter.  The H-p in the name is short for a dangerous bacteria named Heliobacter pylori, or H. pylori for short.

For many years, it was thought that stress was the primary cause of ulcers; however, several scientific studies showed differently--that they was caused by H. pylori bacteria.  Other studies have linked H. pylori to even more dangerous conditions, such as stomach cancer.  In 1994, Nature's Sunshine set out to find an herbal combination that would fight H. pylori while leaving good friendly bacteria (flora) in the digestive tract alone.  Gastro Health is the result of two long years of research.  It is one of several NSP products that has received a US patent.  Thus, there is no other equivalent product on the market today.
