Nature’s Sunshine Immune Stimulator contains several ingredients which have been historically used to strengthen the immune system.

One of the key components is that of beta-glucans.  There have literally been thousands of papers published about the immune system effects of beta-glucans, and it is probably the most studied immune stimulator today.  Immune Stimulator has a particular combination of glucose molecules inside its beta-glucans denoted as 1,3/1,6.  This particular combination has been proven to stimulate microphages and killer T-cells in the body, activating them to the point that they do the job that they should have done to begin with--recognizing invading cells and killing them.  Here is a good article written about beta-glucans in their use for supporting the immune system and for helping the body fight against various health conditions.

Immune stimulator also contains three Chinese mushrooms—reishi, maitake, and cordyceps—all known for activating T-cells, B-cells, natural killer cells, and macrophages.  It also contains colostrum the active substance in mother's breast milk that helps prevent a baby from illness.  Arabinogalactin is another nutritive ingredient that stimulates killer cells, but also promotes the growth of some intestinal friendly flora (bacteria).

When used for general immune system stimulation 2-3 capsules per day taken between meals is the common dosage. When used as part of the Paw Paw Cell Reg™ program, usually 6-10 capsules per day are taken at different times of the day when the Paw Paw Cell Reg™ is taken.
