Noni is a tropical fruit native to Hawaii, Tahiti, and several other Pacific islands.  If you have ever smelled or tasted the noni fruit, you would wonder why anyone would taste it, much less make it a part of their diet.  It has a strong, foul smell and taste.  However, Nature's Sunshine uses a small amount of grape extract to take the edge off--which it does very well.

Natives who use the fruit and its juice claim a myriad of health benefits.  In fact, the physician Neil Solomon MD, PhD, went to these islands in the late 1990's to document the reported health benefits.  In his book Noni, Nature's Amazing Healer, Dr. Solomon writes that he interviewed over 8000 users of noni and found almost 80% of them had reported good results for over 100 different sicknesses and conditions.  There have been some thought that its success was due to its being a natural source of xeronine and its precursor proxeronine, a substance that is reportedly necessary for proper cell function and growth.

What we do know that it is a source of antioxidants, and thus has some anti-inflammatory effects.  The University of Mississippi did an assay that determined that Nature's Noni^® had some good immuno-stimulatory effects; in fact, it was 6 times better than its nearest competitor, Tahitian Noni^®.  As virtually the entire medical community recommends a daily intake of antioxidants, Nature's Noni^® is an excellent choice.  Nature's Sunshine has it in various packages of their Habit of Health program, a collection of essential daily supplements for everyday health.

Note that the 32 ounce bottles are glass, while the small 16 oz bottle is plastic. For those considering long term use, the two pack of 32 ounce bottles is appropriate. The plastic small bottle is mainly for trial. Nature's Noni is also available in capsules.
