Nature's Prenatal is an excellent multi-vitamin choice for both pregnant and nursing women.  It is formulated to take care of the special needs of both mother and baby.  It contains ginger in it for the purpose of helping relieve morning sickness.  Ginger has been used for centuries to help with nausea and related conditions.  In addition, it has 800 mcg of folic acid.  Folic acid is extremely important for developing fetuses as a lack of it has been linked to serious neural tube defects.

A baby also needs calcium as its bones are developing--both pre-birth and afterwards.  If the mother isn't taking a good absorbable source of calcium, the baby tends to "leach" it from the mother's skeletal system.  Thus, it is wise to add a good calcium supplement, such as Calcium-Magnesium SynerPro.  Some baby formulas are starting to add DHA, an essential fatty acid needed for brain cell development.  Thus, it is probably a good idea to add DHA or another Omega-3 supplement as well.
