I'm John Howlett, a Nature's Sunshine Divisional Manager. I get the question from many people asking me "what" I recommend for weight loss (wanting to know a pill to take). Here is the bottom line: If you are looking for a weight loss pill that "magically" helps you lose weight, you are wasting your time and money--Forget it. Since ephedra was banned by the FDA, there is no longer any pill on the market that works for more than a very small segment of people, regardless of what you see on TV. Nor should you and I expect any to come along. There are reasons for that, but I won't go into it here.
I had fallen myself for the myths of weight loss and ab development--having bought pills, ab exercisers, and spent hundreds of hours doing boring cardio--all wasted money, time, and effort. You may have experienced the same. I finally found an approach that works--the numbers and pictures above tell the truth. In doing so, I came face to face with some cold, hard reality. I'll share a little bit with you.
- Fact 1: The reason that your metabolism slows down as you age basically comes down to this--your muscle mass decreases, and your muscle burns a LOT of calories. Without that muscle mass, you will gain weight unless you drastically scale back your calorie intake.
- Fact 2: The way to get your muscle mass back and your body slim is NOT by doing ab crunches nor hours of endless cardio such as jogging. What a waste of time! There is a far better, more efficient, less time-consuming way to get it done.
- Fact 3: Getting slim, getting a 6-pack, whatever...is 50% exercise (the RIGHT kind) and 50% nutrition--PERIOD. You MUST do both. If you are looking for the 6 pack look, make that 50% nutrition, 49% exercise, and 1% ab workouts.
- Fact 4: There is a HUGE difference between dieting and proper nutrition.
- Fact 5: It is not enough to exercise...you must do the RIGHT TYPES of exercise to activate the fat-burning hormones in your body. You must also do them in the way that best activates those hormones.
- Fact 6: There are no shortcuts. Dieting pills are not going to get it done.
- Fact 7: There is a way to structure your eating to supercharge the fat-burning capability in your body. If you want to lose weight quickly and effectively, this is NOT optional!
- Fact 8: There are two sets of foods that you must AVOID at all costs if you do not want to waste several days of effort. On the other hand, there are several "super-foods" that you should eat EVERY day.
- Fact 9: Artificial sweeteners are TERRIBLE and most likely help contribute to weight gain.
